Subject:                                     Challange Camp Updates

Some updates for everyone’s information. If you know anyone who is a scout going but is not on the scout mailing list, can you please pass this on and have them contact me so I can add them in.

Getting to Gilwell:

A map has now been uploaded to the website for everyone to use. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact myself.

Gear list:

The gear list was handed out, it has also been uploaded to the website.

Food:

Please note that no one is to bring their own food to camp. Patrols will shop for the patrol according to their menu and we will reimburse them on Friday night when a receipt is presented.

Medication:

Please ensure that if you are sending any medication with your child that it comes clearly labelled with your child’s name, a health form with details of the required dosage in a labelled container. This must be handed to Matthew on arrival.

Dinner:

You will need to have had dinner before you arrive.

Arrival on site:

There will be a leader on site from 6pm onwards. As you come in the gate you will come to a notice board, look on that notice board for where we are.

Mobile reception:

Reception will be patchy at best. No child should be sent with a mobile phone, the battery will just run dead. If you have an issue please contact a leader.

Website:

The website can be found at http://www.3descouts.org.au/

Notes for Patrol leaders:

·         You will need to ensure that on Saturday you have a packed lunch as you will need to make lunch and carry it with you.

·         Make sure you get 1 bag of ice for your esky.

·         No lollies, we will provide as needed.

·         If you have someone with allergies in your patrol, please ensure you cater for them and check the food when you buy it. Ask them for advice and get them to check it BEFORE you start cooking. If you have any concerns please contact a leader.

Best regards,

Matthew Enger
